This is home to one of the largest Annual St. Patrick's Day Parades in the United States. Laid out in a series of squares by General James Oglethorpe back in 1733, this southern city became Georgia's First City. The city's history is very diverse and rich in heritage. Add to this the year-round climate and beauty, and you have one of the country's most popular destinations.
We offer wonderful economic benefits as well. The population grows steadily, as well as the number of businesses, yet it remains a city with small-town charm and a major appeal. We also claim a large military population due to having both Hunter Army Airfield and Fort Stewart Army Base nearby. Savannah offers more than 10 colleges and universities, and has an abundant workforce. This shows that with all of our fun and attractions, we know how to work hard behind the scenes.
Speaking of attractions, just imagine having your choice of activities in this area. Tybee Island offers some of the best beach walking in the Southeast. World famous Victory Drive is renowned for its beautiful palm trees. River Street, located in Downtown Savannah is teeming with restaurants, shops, festivities and fun. The historic and walking tours offer insights into the city's mixed and curious heritage.
Affiliated with the National Council of Catholic Women, the CCW is united with Catholic women's groups all over the United States.
